Spruce forests, clearings and pastures of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, on the Swiss border. Silence, stars and snow-filled valleys.
Chapelle-des-Bois is one of the cradles of cross-country skiing in France. The village lies in a valley ringed by the Risoux forest and Mont Risoux, and lives with the seasons: groomed trails and snowshoeing in winter, hiking, mountain biking and lakes from spring onwards.
No ski lifts, no tower blocks: a human-sized village resort, a Nordic ski area linked to the neighbouring villages, two lakes, and Comté cheese dairies a few kilometres away.
Discover Chapelle-des-Bois and the Haut-Jura

Winter activities
Hikes to Mont Risoux and the lakes, mountain biking on the Grande Traversée du Jura, swimming, fishing, waterfalls and cheese dairies: the Jura summer is mild and generous.
